Synway's IP-PBX supports Zero-touch auto-provision with multiple SIP phone brands and greatly simplifies field deployment

UC series IP-PBX of Synway adopts special way to support zero touch auto-provision, and enable users to need no time in configuration their SIP phones on the field. Unlike other IP-PBX brands, Synway's IP PBX only needs clients to do nothing to configure phoneset for their phone system, and the pure zero-touch user-friendly feature has been applied into a range of IP phoneset brands, including Hteck, Fanvil, Yealink, Cisco and more. If needed, Synway's engineers would enable any phone brands for zero-configuration when working in Synway's IP-PBX platform.

Plug-and-Play (PNT) technology is user-friendly concept, and it has been widely used in the computer industry, in which PnP is to automatically configure motherboard and other peripheral devices, and then output messaging to show setup status of devices. PnP's another role is to match physical devices with software drivers and operate the device to establish a communication channel between each device and its drivers. PnP is to allocate: I/O addresses, IRQ, DMA channels, and memory segments to designated devices and hardware. In modern communication systems, PnP applications have been extended to the entire system, and enable core network equipment to effectively improve the networking efficiency of the system.

There are two types of PnP automatic configuration methods in PBX and its endpoints. The first type is fit to the scenario in which the extension number and IP phone MAC address have the corresponding relationship. Through the search function, Synway's IP-PBX finds out all the IP phones in the same network, set independent MAC address to each IP phone, "add" or "bulk add" configuration file for each phone, and finally restart all IP phones in bulk. After that, IP-PBX waits for the SIP phones to request configuration file, issue a special configuration file corresponding to the MAC address, then the IP phones TFTP download configuration file. After the automatic restart, the configuration takes effect.

The second PNP type is for the condition when the extension number and IP phone MAC address do not have the corresponding relationship. First, query out all IP phones in the same network, make sure MAC address of each phone and its number, and then add some templates according to the phone model and number. Then IP-PBX will automatically generate configuration profiles for each phone according to template, and needn't input the MAC address to add IP phones. Finally restart the IP phone, waiting for the phone to auto request configuration file and IP phone automatically download configuration, load configuration. After reboot, configuration will work.

By above methods, Synway UC series IP-PBX, with the IP-PBX intelligent PNP "Plug and Play" function, can make the system deployment simplified and reduce deployment time to zero, which brings more value to the enterprise.
